Once again, this is a poem/song. I started writing it after visiting my grandparents and thinking about how much you are influenced by those around you: physically by your genealogy, and generally by everyone you come in contact with. When you think about it, you are really bits and pieces of everyone you've ever met, talked to, rejected, ignored, or loved.
verse 1
Bits of you
Make up pieces of me
The words that you speak, the air that you breathe
verse 2
Bits of you
Make up pieces of me
The way you've filled my heart with (your) memories
chorus
You came into my life
And made me who I am
You set my world on fire
And now I'm still aflame
You changed (me)
And made me--into
Bits and pieces of you
verse 3
Bits of you
Make up pieces of me
You taught me how to fly and gave me wings
verse 4
Bits of you
Make up pieces of me
You showed me your heart and taught mine to beat
bridge
Can you see the pieces of you in me?
Each fragmented dream/heart and memories
Tied together with my life
Whether good or bad
Each step, each piece, each memory
Has made me who I am
Thanks for being a piece of my life. :)
live&love,
Elizabeth
